Set-up and Maintenance: the MOT for your guitar.

In the past 30 years we’ve literary had thousands and thousands of instruments under our care. There is no default set up; any musician has his or her own demands on a (bass-) guitar. We set up your instrument to your needs, with your strings and tuned to your music.
We take care of your guitar from tuners to the output. Nut, fingerboard, pickups and electronics, we check and balance everything. We combine this with a thorough cleaning, polishing and lubrication so your instrument can hit the road again for a year or so.
We do things right or we don’t do them at all. That means that it takes an average 1 to 1,5 hours to get it right for you.
It also means you get a good warranty.

Adjustment and Maintenance: from € 85.00, which includes 21% VAT.
There is an additional charge of €15.00 for a floating tremolo.

Fret Levelling

Sometimes frets need to be levelled so one can set up an instrument the way you like it to be.
Fret levelling comes down to the last of a 100th of a millimeter to get them precisely the same heigth. We do this for each string. After levelling the frets need to be rounded, sanded and polished.A proper levelling job is always followed by set-up & maintenance, which is included in the price.

Surfaces including adjustment and maintenance: from € 195.00 (incl. 21% VAT)
There is an additional charge of €15.00 for a floating tremolo.

Re-fretting

If frets are too low or too deeply worn, they can no longer be leveled. Replacing all frets is then the solution. We only replace all the frets, not some. Old frets are taken out. After removal, we level the fingerboard first, and so we can eliminate most problems in necks. The new frets are glued and pressed into the fingerboard. The frets remain as high as possible. A proper fret-job could be called Major Service for your instrument: one can solve many neck problems with a refret.

Refret including Leveling, Setup and Maintenance: starting at €395,00 incl. 21% VAT
There is an additional charge of €25.00 for a neck with binding and €15.00 for a guitar with tremolo..
If you want Stainless Steel frets on your instrument, it will cost an extra €150.
A refret job of a lacquered maple fingerboard is a lot more work most of the time – we need to charge €50,- to €100,- more.

Broken Headstocks

A fall, a slap or a punch to the head: if an instrument is made of mahogany or similar woods the headstock breaks quite quickly. This can almost always be repaired properly. Our record to this date is 6 head glueing jobs in one week. In case you lose your head; collect all loose wood chips and remove the string tension of your guitar. Glueing, filling, and finishing is a job that costs between €150.00 and €170.00. If you want the crack concealed and not to be seen any longer we have to finish the neck and head with lacquer. That is more expensive, and the job will be in the range of €325.00 to €375.00 incl. 21% VAT
